A“Some Pharisees and Herodians were sent to Jesus to ensnare him in his speech. You do not regard a person\u2019s status but teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. Is it lawful to pay the census tax to Caesar or not? Should we pay or should we not pay?\u201d Knowing their hypocrisy he said to them, \u201cWhy are you testing me? Bring me a denarius to look at.\u201d They brought one to him and he said to them, \u201cWhose image and inscription is this?\u201d They replied to him, \u201cCaesar\u2019s.\u201d So Jesus said to them, \u201cRepay to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and to God what belongs to God.\u201d They were utterly amazed at him.”<\/strong>men, amen, I say to you, we speak of what we know and we testify to what we have seen, but you people do not accept our testimony. If I tell you about earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you about heavenly things? No one has gone up to heaven except the one who has come down from heaven, the Son of Man.
